Empowerment Academy Charter School in Jersey City is hiring a paraprofessional to support a high school student in reading, writing, math, and other instructional activities. The role includes providing help and breaks/redirection as needed, under the supervision of the teacher.

This is a full-time position with salary and benefits for immediate placement this year and beyond. Candidates must have completed 2 years of college (60 credits) and hold an Associate’s degree or higher; a BA or

Qualifications

• Two years of college (60 credits) and an Associate’s or higher degree.
• BA, Substitute Certificate, or working toward a Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
• Strong communications skills and basic administrative abilities required.
• Team-oriented with maturity and a positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support a high school student during basic instruction in reading, writing, and math.
• Provide help or breaks/redirection as needed, under teacher guidance.
• Assist with classroom activities and administrative tasks as needed.
