Job summary

Empowerment Academy Charter School in Jersey City, NJ is hiring a paraprofessional to support a high school student with basic reading, writing and math instruction. This is a full-time position starting immediately, with salary $35,500-$37,500 and benefits; substitute certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include providing help or breaks and redirection as needed, supporting the teacher during classroom activities, and helping the student stay on task.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 2 years of college (60 credits) and possess an Associate's or higher degree.
• BA, Substitute Certificate, or working towards a Bachelor's Degree would be a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a high school student during basic reading, writing, and math instruction.
• Provide help or breaks/redirection as needed.
• Assist the teacher with classroom activities and student engagement.
