Essential Functions:

NOTE: Minors in this role may not be responsible for some activities listed below.

• Assisted Self Check Out
• Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Approaches and interacts with customers proactively to recommend products and services.
• Greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers across registers at the same time.
• Moves throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to complete transactions accurately.
• Thanks customers and invites them back to Lowe’s.

Customer Service

• Provides excellent customer service by following Lowe's policies and procedures.
• Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Responds promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions.
• Shows sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicates product and service information effectively.
• Coaches, trains, and provides feedback to associates.
• Uses a cash register for sales, returns, and refunds per guidelines.
• Handles monetary transactions accurately.
• Supports the Front End Team through supervision and coaching.
• Removes security tags, verifies product info, and bags merchandise.
• Answers and directs phone calls appropriately.
• Opens additional registers when needed and assists in line management.

In-stock

• Prepares register area at start/end of shift, checks equipment, stocks supplies.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters customer orders, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets.
• Manages online orders and returned merchandise.
• Verifies prices and records store item usage.

Clean and Safe Stores

• Monitors cash drawers and security alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates risks.
• Maintains store cleanliness and organization.
• Ensures a safe work environment, including safety reviews and hazard reporting.
• Operates store equipment as required.

General

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of computer experience.
• Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology.
• 1-2 years of retail cashier experience.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Preferences

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in product sales and customer needs assessment.
• Experience as a head cashier and in Lowe’s store departments.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience in shoplifting detection.
