Job summary

Aspire Allergy & Sinus is hiring a Full-time Float Medical Assistant in the Dallas area. You will assist with allergy testing, injections, spirometry, patient intake, and front-office tasks across multiple clinics.

The role requires excellent patient service, teamwork, and the ability to travel between clinics in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area. Valid driver’s license and MA training are required.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with others to exchange information effectively.
• Must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections.
• Must be able to manually take patient vital signs.
• Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public.
• Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balance with full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Requires manual dexterity to operate computer/keyboard, calculator, phone, copier and fax.
• Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room; obtain vitals and medical history.
• Communicate allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients.
• Administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
• Conduct spirometry testing to assess lung function.
• Record patient health information in the EHR.
• Greet and direct patients and visitors.
• Answer incoming calls with accurate information.
• Track clinical inventory and resupply as needed.
• Complete end-of-day reports and logs.
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
• Cross-train in front office duties: scheduling, payments, treatment coordination, CT authorizations.

Description

Join our clinical staff as an essential Aspire Allergy Medical Assistant and contribute to our mission of curing patients with allergy, asthma, and sinus problems. You'll be administering allergy tests and injections, providing exceptional support during in-office procedures, and assisting with front-office administrative tasks. Help us deliver an extraordinary patient experience from start to finish!

What You'll Be Doing

• Escorting patient to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
• Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
• Administering subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections
• Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing to assess and evaluate lung function in patients
• Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
• Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
• Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately
• Answering all incoming phone calls and providing accurate information
• Tracking clinical inventory and resupply when needed
• Ensuring all of end of day reports and logs are accurate and complete
• Following all HIPAA rules and regulations including confidentiality of patient information
• Adhering to Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
• Adhering to OSHA requirements including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
• Adhering to HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information.
• Must be willing to cross-train in front office responsibilities to support full-cycle clinic operations. Front office duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Scheduling patient appointments.
  • Collecting patient payments.
  • Supporting treatment coordination, including enrolling patients in their treatment of choice.
  • Obtain CT authorizations.

Required education and experience

• Must have a valid driver's license

Preferred education and experience

• Completed Medical Assistant Program or Degree
• 1+ Years of Medical Assistant Experience
• 1+ Years of Medical Receptionist Experience
• Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license or related experience
• Current CPR Certification
