Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents (couples) to live in on-campus student homes, supervising 8–13 students and guiding their academic, emotional, and social development. This two-person role requires a two-year marriage minimum and a 27+ age threshold for both spouses.

The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential progression to a Placed Houseparent role.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
