Job summary

Byers Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates to join our progressive combination fire department serving the Byers community and advancing careers in the fire service.

Minimum requirements include EMT-Paramedic certification or NREMT-Paramedic eligibility, BLS, ACLS, PALS, HazMat Operations, and Firefighter I eligibility; applicants may be considered for the Paramedic position if Firefighter I is not yet obtained. Applications deadline is Saturday, September 19, 2026.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess, or be eligible to obtain as applicable:

• Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment EMT-Paramedic certification, NREMT-Paramedic, or be eligible for Colorado reciprocity
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• CDFPC Firefighter I certification OR the ability to attend and successfully complete a fire academy*
• CDFPC Hazardous Materials Operations level certification

*Applicants who do not currently possess Firefighter I certification may still be considered for the Paramedic position with the ability to attend a future fire academy.
