Job summary

The Louisville Fire Protection District in Louisville, CO is hiring a lateral Firefighter Paramedic to join a skilled team at three stations. Successful candidates will be placed at the grade level based on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

Candidates must meet state EMS and firefighter certifications, be prepared for a rigorous selection process, and commit to the district's mission and 48/96 shift schedule.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of continuous experience as a full-time Structural Firefighter Paramedic.
  • Pro Board or IFSAC Firefighter I certification (or higher).
  • Pro Board or IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations certification (or higher).
  • State of Colorado EMT – Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic certification and the ability to obtain Colorado State certification within one month of hire.

The Louisville Fire Protection District (LFPD) proudly serves the Louisville, Colorado community from three strategically located fire stations in beautiful Boulder County. LFPD is currently accepting applications for Lateral Firefighter Paramedic positions to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Valid, unrestricted Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain within one month of hire)
  • Two (2) years of continuous experience as a full-time Structural Firefighter Paramedic
  • Pro Board or IFSAC Firefighter I certification (or higher)
  • Pro Board or IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations certification (or higher)
  • State of Colorado EMT – Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic certification and the ability to obtain Colorado State certification within one (1) month of hire.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings (background check, drug screening, physical, psychological evaluation)
Post-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of the district condensed academy
  • Completion of the following within one year of hire:
    • NIMS I-100, I-200, IS-700
    • NWCG S-130/S-190
    • LFPD EMS Field Instruction Program
  • Maintain annual fitness and physical standards
  • Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license
