Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED, have Colorado EMT and BLS certifications, and be a minimum of 21 years old. Preferred certifications include Colorado Paramedic, ACLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

Job description

The Strasburg Fire Protection District is a growing and progressive Fire/EMS transport agency serving the communities of Strasburg and Byers. Located 20 minutes east of the Denver Metro area, along Interstate 70, the district and surrounding areas population is expected to have significant growth over the next 10 years.

Medical direction under University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) and the Denver Metro protocols allow our clinicians to provide advanced level care to our citizens. Currently we respond to approximately 1,100+ calls for service per year.

The crew works 48‑hour shifts as part of the fire department crew, responding to 911 calls and acting as the lead clinician for all medical emergencies.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED equivalent)
• Minimum age of 21 years
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a 911 system
• Colorado EMT and BLS certifications
• Acceptable MVR
• Must pass a background check; a felony conviction will result in disqualification.

Preferred Certifications

• Colorado Paramedic, ACLS, and PALS certification
• Letter of intent, resume, and copy of all certifications
