Job summary

Jackson Township Fire Department is hiring a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic to deliver professional fire protection and EMS services within the township. Ideal candidates will hold Ohio Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications, or be actively pursuing paramedic training, plus PAT within the last year.

Eligible for township benefits and OAFF retirement; applications due by 9/18/2026. Position is full-time with opportunities for growth, lateral transfers, and ongoing education reimbursements.

Qualifications

Job description

The Jackson Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic in the Fire Department. The Jackson Township Fire Department’s mission is to provide both fire protection and emergency medical service in a professional, unbiased manner and to provide courteous service to the township residents and visitors.

The Jackson Township Fire Department includes suppression activities, fire code enforcement, numerous public educational courses, origin & cause of fire investigations, along with involvement on numerous specialized county and state-based teams such as hazmat, technical rescue, incident management (IMAT), state-wide emergency response (ERP), SWAT, and PEER support functions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Applicants must be a United States citizen;
• Be eighteen (18) years of age;
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
• Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license;
• Current State of Ohio certifications in Firefighter II (FFII)
• Current State of Ohio Paramedic certification OR currently attending a paramedic course
• Physical Agility Testing (PAT) certification from either Stark State College or Tri-C completed within the past 12 months.
