Firefighter/Paramedic

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated firefighter/paramedic to join our team at the Monroe Township Fire Department in Knox County, Ohio.

Responsibilities

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services and fire suppression to the residents of Monroe Township and surrounding areas. This includes responding promptly to emergency calls, providing pre-hospital emergency medical care, performing firefighting duties, participating in training exercises, maintaining equipment, conducting public education activities, working collaboratively with other agencies, and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Minimum qualifications

State of Ohio Firefighter I and State of Ohio EMT-P

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 years old.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional fire science or EMS coursework preferred.

Certifications: Ohio Firefighter I or II certification and Ohio EMT-Basic (minimum) required at time of hire.

Ability: Must demonstrate ability to perform firefighting and EMS duties.

Background: Clean criminal record and successful completion of a background check. No OMVI Convictions in 5 years, no more than 1 in a lifetime.

Availability: Willingness to work shifts, including 24-hour rotations, and respond to emergencies as needed.
