Homes for the Homeless in Staten Island, NY is seeking a dedicated Custodian/Porter to keep our families' residence clean, safe, and welcoming. The role focuses on general cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and turnover of units, with attention to safe handling of cleaning supplies and adherence to hygiene standards.

You will join a mission-driven team at a site that serves families with children, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to a supportive community in NYC.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial work.
• Know how to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Stand for long hours (up to 9 hours).

Responsabilités

• Performs general cleaning and custodial duties in common areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and cafeteria.
• Stocks cleaning supplies.
• Vacuum, sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Clean and turnover units.
• Dust and disinfect furniture and equipment.
• Identify safety hazards and report to Building Operations Director.
• Perform limited grounds maintenance such as snow removal.
• Other related duties as assigned.
