Job summary

Crothall Healthcare at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is hiring a full-time Patient Transporter. The role involves transporting patients and equipment safely and efficiently within the hospital, with a 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm shift.

The pay range is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, and prior environmental services experience is preferred. You will work within a team that values caring, safety, and professional conduct, supporting patient flow and confidentiality while adhering to hospital policies

Qualifications

• Prior environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations.
• Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock as needed.
• Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception and dispatch.
• Ensures patient comfort by being attentive and respectful of privacy and modesty.
• Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.
• Follows regulatory standards including federal, state and JCAHO rules.
