Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring for an on-call Patient Transporter at Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. The role features a fixed pay rate of $17.00 per hour with both full-time and part-time positions available, and an on-call schedule with hours varying by business needs.

The transporter will move patients and equipment safely, communicate with nursing staff, and ensure patient comfort and safety while complying with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service and overnight experience required.
• On-call schedule; days and hours may vary, based on business needs.
• Transport of patients and equipment; safety and timeliness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients, securing IVs and equipment.
• Uses wheelchairs and rolling stock to perform duties.
• Demonstrates competency transporting all age groups.
• Delivers patients to destinations with correct equipment.
• Communicates with nursing staff, clinicians and dispatch.
• Ensures patient comfort and privacy; offers blankets and maintains dignity.
• Alerts staff to distress or equipment issues.
• Maintains and reports equipment needing repairs.
• Adheres to regulatory standards including HIPAA and JCAHO.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
