Job summary

Montgomery College is hiring three full-time English and Reading faculty for January 2027 across Takoma Park/Silver Spring, Rockville, and Germantown campuses. The positions are part of a collective bargaining unit and emphasize inclusive teaching, critical thinking, and the integration of digital storytelling into student success writing.

The duties include teaching 30 semester hours per year, developing assignments, advising students, and participating in committees.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English Composition/Rhetoric or closely related field.
• At least 12 credit hours of college-level teaching experience in English composition.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.
• Ability to use Blackboard in instructional delivery.

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 semester hours per academic year of composition courses.
• Develop teaching assignments that integrate majors, interdisciplinary learning, and research skills.
• Teach in-person, online, hybrid, and blended formats including evenings and weekends.
• Advise students on courses for degree completion and transfer.
• Incorporate technology and OER into instruction.
• Participate in department and college committees and professional development.
