Job summary

Alto Grayslake is seeking a Full-Time Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team in Grayslake, IL. You'll work Sunday through Thursday from 11:00am to 7:00pm with Fridays and Saturdays off, and no late nights.

Responsibilities include washing dishes, assisting with basic food prep, maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and following food safety procedures. A Food Handler Certificate is required or obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Safety practices awareness.
• Clear background screening.
• Drug-free workplace.
• Preferred: 6 months food service experience.

Alto Grayslake is hiring a Full-Time Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. With consistent daytime hours ending at 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays always off — this is a kitchen role that actually works for your life.

No Food Handler Certificate yet? No problem — we'll help you get it after you're hired.

What You'll Do:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, flatware, and kitchen equipment throughout every shift
• Support the culinary team with basic food prep and kitchen tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining environment throughout service
• Restock supplies and keep stations ready throughout the shift
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Be a dependable, team-first presence in a well-run kitchen

What We're Looking For:

• Food service or senior living experience — preferred

The primary responsibility of the Kitchen Assistant is to set tables, bus tables, wash dishes, assist the Cook as needed, and complete cleaning duties.

Areas of Responsibility

• Thoroughly wash all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
• Properly maintain all dishwashing equipment.
• Work as part of the Dining Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen.
• Help contribute to high quality Dining Services operations by paying attention to food presentation and taste, and courteous responses to residents and associates during meal service.
