Job summary

Celebrate Senior Living of Niles is seeking a dedicated kitchen/dishwashing assistant for the 2nd shift (11:00am-7:30pm, Fri-Mon) and Tuesday mornings. You will operate dish machines, prep silverware, clean and sanitize kitchen areas, and help cooks with non-food tasks to support a safe dining environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining proper storage, organizing storerooms and freezers, and adhering to health department regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State of Illinois Food Handler Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Setting up dish machines before and after meal service.
• Setting up silverware in the pre-soak tub after meals.
• Cleaning equipment, rolling racks, appliances, floors, drains, storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, storerooms, and sinks.
• Sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen refrigerators, freezer, and storerooms.
• Stacking and soaking dirty dishes, pots, silverware, etc.; putting away in designated areas.
• Emptying trash containers; flatten boxes for trash removal.
• Assisting cooks with non-food preparation tasks as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe kitchen and dining room environment.
• Ensuring proper storage of equipment and handling of food to meet health department requirements.
• Organizing storerooms, freezers, and refrigerators on delivery day.
• Knows and follows established facility wide health and safety procedures and rules.
• Actively participates in health and safety training, and demonstrates competency based on training received.
• Identifies and corrects hazards and unsafe conditions
• Brings health and safety issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention

Education
