Apploi is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook for our Virginia Chesapeake facility to prepare nutritious meals for residents in a full-time role. You'll follow approved menus, accommodate dietary restrictions, maintain safety and quality, and collaborate with a supportive team to deliver comforting, well-balanced meals daily.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare/long-term care preferred.
• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
• Knowledge of special diets, food preparation techniques, portion control, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, dietary instructions, and production schedules.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing quality meals.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Nutritious Meals according to approved menus and resident dietary requirements.
• Follow Special Diets to meet restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
• Maintain Food Quality by monitoring preparation, portions, and serving temperatures.
• Support Kitchen Operations with daily food prep, meal service, and department tasks.
• Maintain a Clean & Safe Kitchen by following sanitation and safety procedures.
• Manage Food Supplies including inventory, storage, rotation, and waste reduction.
• Work as a Team with dietary staff, nursing, and leadership to ensure quality meals.
• Provide Leadership by supervising dietary operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
• Maintain Documentation through logs and production records.
• Follow Facility Standards for safety and regulatory compliance.
