Job summary

NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our Food Nutrition Service Team. You will help prepare patient meals, assist with food prep, and ensure meals meet diet orders in a healthcare setting.

Full-time and part-time shifts are available, including morning and evening schedules. Experience in healthcare food service and a passion for quality dining for residents is preferred. We offer a supportive team and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Cooking experience with patient meals and dietary requirements.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and diet orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food prep, cooking, and kitchen cleaning.
• Review menus, therapeutic menus, and production sheets before preparing meals; prepare and serve diets properly using proper portions.
• Follows standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities to meet all service requirements.
• Test and taste foods of all consistencies for proper appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature and adjust if needed.
• Time the preparation of meals/snacks to meet time schedules for service for patients.
• Check trays for accuracy of diets, preferences, and quality before they are delivered; serve on tray line and deliver carts to floors as needed.
