Job summary

Qualifications

• Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
• One-year institutional food service experience as a cook preferred.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition to supervisor or nurse.

Responsibilities

• The Dietary Cook’s primary duties include preparing and cooking family style meals for residents of skilled nursing facility.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-supervisory employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
