Job summary

Watertown Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated food service staff member to support resident meals and snacks in a skilled nursing environment. You will follow sanitation policies, safely handle food, and deliver meals to designated areas with care and attention to residents’ needs.

Responsibilities include preparing snacks, delivering meals, and maintaining clean, sanitary practices while following diet lists and portioning guidelines.

Qualifications

• Some high school education is required.
• Knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion foods as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.

Responsibilities

• Handles food and equipment according to corporate, local, state and federal sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas as instructed by supervisor.
• Prepares and delivers snacks.
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that customer and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
