Job summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking a full-time Day Programs Direct Support Professional in Groton, CT. The role involves delivering training and support to participants, developing individual support plans, and ensuring health and safety while fostering independence.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, transportation to activities, and advocacy for participant rights. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with basic computer aptitude and English

Qualifications

Must be able to mentor and assist people in life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Deliver training, support, and assistance to participants in personal care, recreation, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, and rights.
Participate in design, implementation and monitoring of individualized support plans.
Accurately administer prescribed medications to participants as ordered by physicians.
Accurately complete required documentation including program data, incident reports, daily logs, progress notes and health records.
Ensure participants health and safety and respond to emergencies per policies.
