Pay Range

This range is provided by Grand Rapids Public Schools. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $17.74/hr

Job Summary

This position supports the educational process by maintaining the district's buildings through housekeeping, groundskeeping, and basic repairs. It reports to the Operations leader in the assigned building and may work in multiple buildings.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and functional environment by performing custodial and grounds tasks.
• Operate and maintain cleaning and grounds equipment properly.
• Keep accurate records related to payroll, equipment, and shifts.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Travel between buildings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills include leadership, interpersonal communication, teamwork, and ability to work under pressure. Good attendance and punctuality are essential. Limited English speakers are encouraged to apply.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see clearly. The work environment is usually moderate noise.
