Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. The role supports ~8–13 students in a home, providing care, supervision, and guidance and living in the home with the students.

Couples work a nine-on/three-off schedule initially, with potential transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Benefits include housing, meals on duty, and comprehensive insurance.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couple must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Willingness to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
