Job summary

Autumn Lake at Birch Manor in Sykesville, MD is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its rehabilitation team. This full-time position provides hands-on therapy, helping residents strengthen daily skills and pursue greater independence under supervision of an OT.

Responsibilities include delivering OT treatments, assisting with ADLs, monitoring progress, documenting care, and collaborating with nursing and rehab staff. New graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Skilled nursing or rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required.
• New graduate COTAs are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, coordination, balance, and functional tasks
• Carry out individualized treatment programs established by the supervising OT
• Monitor resident response to therapy and communicate progress to the clinical team
• Reinforce adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety strategies
• Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation
• Work closely with nursing and other rehabilitation professionals
