Job summary

Maryville in Beaverton, Oregon, is seeking a compassionate CNA to support residents with daily activities and medications. You will work closely with nurses and the care team to ensure safety, comfort, and quality of life, while upholding HIPAA and maintaining CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Understand HIPAA regulations for privacy.
• Maintain and possess current CPR training and certificate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy and compassion.
• Effective communication, listening and reading skills, including the ability to speak English.
• Be able work weekends on a rotation basis.
• Able to pass an Oregon DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with everyday daily activities.
• Give quality care to ensure the safety and comfort of all patients.
• Assist with feeding and ensuring residents take their medication.
• Have a familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
• Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safety and properly.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, family members and staff at every level of the organization.
• Be able to enter resident information into a computerized database, giving attention to details.
• Demonstrate and maintain competence in all nurse aide skills required by SSMO infirmary policies.
• Be comfortable working with elderly patients and those with special needs
• Improve skills through continued training.
