Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care in an acute care unit. The role operates under RN supervision, performing routine patient care tasks, clerical duties, and unit maintenance.

You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and daily rounds, while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The position requires a CNA license in the state of employment and BLS certification, with a typical 6:30 AM–3:00 PM shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA license in state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Prepare rooms for admission by setting up IV pots and adjusting beds.
• Safely transport stable patients as required.
• Communicate effectively with team members during shifts.
• Respond to patient call lights and emergencies as needed.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to the nurse in charge.
• Maintain unit supplies and assist with stocking as needed.
