Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texarkana, TX seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in patient care on a unit under RN supervision. You will assist with admissions, routine duties, and basic clinical tasks, while ensuring safety and comfort for patients.

The role involves document completion, stock maintenance, equipment handling, responding to call lights, and collaborating with team to maintain a clean, organized unit and timely reporting of changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Patient care experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• CNA license required in state of employment; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Completes pertinent documents.
• Prepares rooms for admission by setting up IV pots and adjusting beds.
• Transports stable patients safely as required.
• Maintains security and confidentiality.
• Cleans, procures and returns equipment and supplies.
• Replenishes patient rooms with water, linen, and towels.
• Assists licensed personnel to provide safe, comfortable environment.
• Responds to emergencies and patient calls.
• Communicates effectively with team members across shifts.
• Identifies changes in patient condition and reports promptly.
