Job summary

West Central Community Action is hiring a Full-Time Child Care Consultant to recruit and educate child care providers, advocate for quality initiatives, and support program planning with their CCR&R services.

The role requires familiarity with Iowa Administrative Code and the ability to work with local HHS staff, plus the I-Consult Certification. Some evening/Saturday hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences with emphasis in Early Childhood or related field is required.
• Own transportation, a valid driver's license, and up-to-date auto liability insurance.
• Evening and Saturday hours may be required to support training.

Responsibilities

• Gain and demonstrate working knowledge of State of Iowa Administrative Code for each type of child care setting.
• Contact and recruit qualified child care providers to participate in quality initiatives as detailed by the Scope of Services.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with local HHS staff assigned for child care registration, licensure, and/or compliance.
• Promote CCR&R provider, parent and community services through marketing materials and meetings.
• Complete the I-Consult Certification as detailed by the Scope of Services.
• Sound technical and computer skills are required for this position.
