Job description

Essential Functions:

1. Customer Service:
   • Provides SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies, procedures, and programs.
   • Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
   • Responds promptly to customer and employee inquiries, guiding them through projects as needed.
   • Expresses genuine appreciation to customers.
   • Communicates information about stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
   • Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with truck drivers for delivery calls.
2. In-stock:
   • Plans delivery activities, prepares loading tickets, and ensures on-time delivery.
   • Pulls merchandise, prepares delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits.
   • Inspects products before loading or assisting with loading.
   • Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities, descriptions, and model numbers.
3. Clean and Safe Stores:
   • Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with DOT regulations.
   • Updates delivery status in tracking systems.
   • Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
   • Conducts vehicle inspections and maintains cleanliness and repairs of delivery vehicles.
   • Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
   • Detects security risks like shoplifting and reports them promptly.
   • Maintains store cleanliness and organization per standards.
   • Ensures a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and noting hazards.
   • Follows safety requirements related to job duties, including the use of safety devices and equipment.
   • Operates store equipment as needed based on role and department.
   • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Class A CDL License (required for multi-unit locations) or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement (for single-unit locations).
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
• Ability to pass MVR screening.
• Ability to obtain necessary sales-related licensure.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

• 1 year of experience driving semi-trucks/trailers or certification from a driving school.
• 6 months of experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
• 3 months of experience operating a forklift or Moffett for loading/unloading.
