Job description

Essential Functions:

1. Customer Service
2. Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
3. Engages with customers to understand needs and assists with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
4. Responds promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when needed.
5. Shows sincere appreciation to customers and communicates information about stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
6. Contacts customers regarding deliveries or coordinates with truck drivers to call customers.

In-stock

1. Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise on schedule for on-time delivery.
2. Prepares merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery orders.
3. Inspects products (e.g., appliances) before loading or assisting customers with loading.
4. Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities by checking descriptions, items, and model numbers.

Clean and Safe Stores

1. Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with DOT regulations.
2. Updates delivery and route status in the system for tracking purposes.
3. Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
4. Performs daily vehicle inspections, reports issues, and maintains cleanliness and repairs of delivery vehicles and equipment.
5. Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
6. Detects and reports signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks.
7. Maintains store and work area cleanliness and organization, adhering to safety standards.
8. Operates store equipment relevant to the role.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Class A CDL License for multi-unit CMV locations or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement for single-unit CMV locations.
2. Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
3. Ability to pass MVR screening.
4. Ability to obtain any required sales-related licensure or registration.
5. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
6. Must be 21 years or older.
7. Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

1. 1 year of experience driving semi-trucks/trailers or certification from a driving school.
2. 6 months of experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
3. 3 months of experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading.
