Job summary

Duly Health and Care in New Lenox, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Cardiology and front-end operations. You will greet patients, assist with registration and scheduling, measure vital signs and collect health history, and provide support to physicians during examinations and first-aid procedures.

You may perform immunizations, help with prescription requests and lab testing (EKG, glucose, pulmonary function), maintain clean exam rooms, and ensure patients receive outstanding service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required.
• Active medical assistant certification through AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA or AAMA.
• CPR certification required or willing to become certified upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
• 2 years of prior MA/CMA/CNA/EMT or 2 years medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history.
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections.
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing.
• Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
