Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Full-Time Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician to join the CT Transplant unit 9D. You will deliver vital patient care under RN supervision and support the healthcare team in daily tasks.

Rotating shifts include day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday coverage, with 12-hour shifts common. A mandatory training course is required for all hires to ensure patient safety and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Must be able to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Ability to communicate with Healthcare team and patients.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Assist with daily living activities and perform point-of-care tasks under RN supervision.
• Environmental Maintenance: Keep patient rooms safe and organized; ensure clean environments.
• Supplies & Equipment Management: Help with stocking and setup of patient care items.
• Communication & Collaboration: Relay information to RNs and other team members; support unit activities.
• Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document patient information and follow safety policies.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in feedback and department improvements; adhere to hospital policies.
• Emergency Response & Companionship: Provide supervision and assist during emergencies.
