Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician to deliver routine patient care on the 5EW/8W unit, a liver failure/hepatology-focused medical-surgical stepdown. You will support nurses and physicians, monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, and contribute to a high standard of care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts possible, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 Year of healthcare experience OR enrollment in PT/OT/PA program with at least one clinical rotation OR Bachelor's Degree in health sciences.
• Bachelor's Degree in health sciences is preferred for advanced roles.
• Enrollment in PT/OT/PA program can qualify for progression or training.
• Senior or Specialist training may be required for advanced titles.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care on a medical-surgical stepdown unit.
• Support nurses and physicians to maintain high-quality patient care.
• Assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and collect specimens as needed.
• Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

1 Year healthcare experience OR clinical rotation enrollment in PT/OT/PA program OR completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a health sciences field
