Job summary

Compass Group USA at Texas A&M University-San Antonio is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to join our campus dining team. The role requires prior chef experience; you will help prepare and cook foods, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure production standards.

Schedule is Sunday through Thursday with variable hours; wage is $25.00 per hour. This position offers opportunities to contribute to menu execution, maintain safety and sanitation, and deliver quality service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior chef experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
