Qualifications

Full Time - Police Officer

The Blinn College District issearching for a Full Time - Police Officer at our Brenham Campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Job Summary

To provide a safe and secure college campus, through professional and
standard procedures.

Principal Accountabilities

1. First Line field police officer.
2. Patrols college campus in an efficient process, to deter criminal acts.
3. Responds to calls for assistance, investigate in an efficient and effective manner.
4. Takes initial report of criminal acts, prepares and submits written reports.
5. Assist other outside agencies.
6. Will work day, evening or night shift.
7. Enforce the laws of The State of Texas.
8. Testifies in court as needed.
9. Manages crime scene, preserves and collects evidence.
10. Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Basic TCOLE certification.

Minimum Competencies

1. Possess the ability to use a variety of police and clerical equipment.
2. Have the ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the college.
3. Must be in good physical condition.
4. Have the ability to function under stressful conditions.
5. State of Texas Class C Driver license.
6. Ability to work within a team environment
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructors, staff, administration, students, the general public and outside agencies.
8. Have the ability to function under stressful conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Associates degree
2. Two years of police experience.

This is a 12 month, benefits eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of
health insurance for full time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times
your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Optional coverages can begin

vacation, 40 hours discretionary and 16 hours personal each year and 8
