Job summary

Brookside Charter School is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher to cover classes when the regular teacher is unavailable. The role may involve following the approved lesson plans, maintaining classroom discipline, and reporting student progress to the regular teacher.

This is a full-time, 10-month contract with a start date in August. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and Missouri certification eligibility, along with proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligible for certification.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and/or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise students when regular teacher is unavailable.
• Interpret lesson plans and create reports for the permanent teacher.
• Maintain classroom behavior and provide a safe learning environment.
• Support long-term substitutes by aligning lesson plans with past teaching plans.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional rapport with staff, students, and families.
