Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Daily Building Substitute to support classroom instruction on a school-based schedule. This 10-month, 185-day employee role follows the district guidelines for substitutes.

The substitute will implement instructional activities according to lesson plans, manage student behavior, and ensure a smooth handover to the regular teacher while adhering to district policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid teaching license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of the regular teacher staff unless released by the principal, completing a full teaching day according to school hours.
• Maintain an organized program of instruction based on lesson plans and communicate objectives to students; preserve normal classroom routine and manage behavior.
• Utilize varied teaching techniques and resources to adapt instruction to students' needs and interests both in class and outside.
• Develop a repository of materials to augment teacher-prepared lesson plans as necessary.
• Attend to materials, equipment, and facilities to maintain a neat, safe environment for students; leave the room orderly.
