Job summary

Courtyard Miami Coral Gables is seeking an experienced Bistro Attendant for their hotel. Competitive pay rate is based on experience. Must have open availability, including holidays and weekends.

Essential duties include setting up and cleaning the dining area, taking orders, serving guests, and upselling to increase check averages. You will be knowledgeable about menu items, ingredients, and preparation, and you will greet guests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Must speak, read, and understand English.
• Bartending experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Server is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guest satisfaction through dining room cleanliness and attention to guests’ needs.
• Setup work station prior to opening and clean at end of shift according to policies.
• Complete all necessary side-work as per restaurant schedule.
• Know menu items, garnish, contents and preparation methods.
• Answer guests’ questions with confidence and accuracy.
• Greet guests promptly at table.
• Utilize suggestive selling to increase check averages.
• Take orders accurately and input into kitchen system; process checks accordingly.
• Check guest orders prior to serving for appearance, temperature and portions.
• Serve orders promptly and attend to guests’ needs; upsell when appropriate.
• Pre-buss and bus tables; prepare for future guests.
• Notify manager of supplies needed for efficient operation.
• Know property and facilities to respond to guest questions.
• Have knowledge of alcoholic beverages, service standards and etiquette.
• Learn guests’ names and remember regulars’ drinks.
• Full-time position (≥30 hours/week); morning and/or evening shifts include requirement.
