Job summary

Canyon Ridge Hospital in California is seeking a compassionate Nurse Manager (RN) to lead nursing operations in our behavioral health unit. The Nurse Manager will oversee LVNs/LPTs, RNs and MHWs, ensure coordinated delivery of high-quality patient care, and support hospital policies and performance improvement efforts.

The role includes monitoring staffing, contributing to staff training, and participating in Treatment Team meetings.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in California required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or nursing administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coordinated delivery of patient care per standards and hospital policies.
• Supervise LVNs/LPTs, RNs and MHWs on assigned shifts.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing RN/MHW staff training.
• Conduct patient nursing assessments as needed.

Canyon Ridge Hospital has serviced the Greater Inland Empire since 1989. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults.

We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs.

TheNurse Manger is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and Performance & Improvement efforts, while providing supervision ofLVNs/LPTs, RN’s and MHWs. This position will monitor staffing needs on assigned shifts. This position is responsible for assisting theCNOin evaluating, reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/MHWstaff required training. Also provides, on as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments.Participatein Treatment Team meetings as needed.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• Licensure: Currently licensed Registered Nurse to practice by the California State Board of Nursing
• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 2 years experience in pychiatric nursing and nursing administration and or managment preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Successful completion of training in Management of Aggressive Behavior (CPI) within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
