Job description

Job Description: Assistant Store Manager

When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you'll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall performance, managing schedules, developing operational plans, and identifying training opportunities for team development.

Position Details
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: 38 hours/week
  • Starting Wage: $25.50/hour
  • Wage Increase: Year 2 - $26.50/hour
Responsibilities

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Key duties include:

  1. Assisting in developing and implementing operational improvement plans
  2. Communicating job responsibilities and performance expectations
  3. Identifying and facilitating training opportunities
  4. Modeling company values and fostering teamwork
  5. Monitoring the competitive environment and advising on adjustments
  6. Providing product feedback and participating in hiring processes
  7. Communicating store updates and milestones
  8. Ensuring compliance with inventory, product handling, and cash policies
  9. Resolving customer concerns and maintaining store safety and cleanliness
  10. Managing stock levels and merchandising
  11. Assisting with payroll, inventory, and training
  12. Supervising daily team operations and escalating issues as needed
  13. Upholding company policies and confidentiality
  14. Performing other duties as assigned
Physical Demands

Ability to stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform various physical activities required for store operation.

Qualifications
  • Minimum age 18
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Customer service and leadership skills
  • Understanding of company policies and performance management
  • Experience with cash handling and equipment operation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Legal requirements for handling alcohol as applicable
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 3 years retail experience, with management preferred
