Job Title: Product Security Architect

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Location: Remote (U.S. based)

Rate: $70-$85 Per hour W2 ONLY! No C2C

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Product Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure systems for connected products and smart solutions. This role is critical in ensuring the security of IoT devices, applications, and cloud infrastructure throughout the entire product lifecycle.

As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into every stage of development—from design to deployment—while ensuring compliance with industry standards and proactively addressing emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the secure architecture and development of smart devices, applications, and cloud services
• Integrate security controls across the full product lifecycle
• Conduct risk assessments, maintain a risk register, and prioritize mitigation strategies
• Evaluate and enhance the security posture of cloud platforms (primarily Azure; AWS/GCP as needed)
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform architecture-level threat modeling using STRIDE, DREAD, and tools like OWASP Threat Dragon
• Support customer-facing teams with security documentation and responses to security inquiries
• Continuously improve security practices and recommend enhancements to address evolving threats

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture
• 8+ years in IT or networking with a focus on connected systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
• Strong understanding of network and application security, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques
• Experience securing IoT ecosystems, including edge gateways and mobile apps
• Familiarity with security tools and methodologies for threat modeling and risk management
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Certifications

• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certifications
