This role involves supervising up to 120 associates in the Customer Service Department, including cashiers, baggers, customer service clerks, and the accounting office. The Assistant Manager assists the Department Manager with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments, and performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and standards.
Responsibilities include performing floor monitor duties, interviewing and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Ensuring compliance with store visit and loss prevention audits is essential. The role also involves providing coaching and feedback, and performing duties of customer service clerks, accounting associates, cashiers, and baggers as needed.
