Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Staff Interpreter to provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting for Deaf and hard-of-hearing members and staff in various settings, including clinical evaluations, meetings, and trainings.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting with relevant experience and current CSC/CT/CI/NAD credentials; or an Associate degree with three years’ interpreting experience with Deaf individuals who have mental illness or developmental disabilities, plus the required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting with at least one year interpreting experience with deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and current CSC, CT/CI, NIC from RID, or Level III from NAD.
• Bachelor’s degree in another field with at least one year interpreting experience with deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and current CSC, CT/CI, NIC from RID, or Level III from NAD.
• Associates degree in Interpreting plus three years interpreting experience with deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and current CSC, CT/CI, NIC from RID, or Level III from NAD.
• Associates degree in any field plus three years interpreting experience with deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities and current CSC, CT/CI, NIC from RID, or Level III from NAD.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interpreting or another field with at least one year of interpreting experience with Deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services sign to voice and voice to sign for deaf and hard of hearing staff and members.
• Interpreting assignments are provided in various settings, including psychiatric evaluations/appointments, meetings, staff trainings, and telephone conferences.
• Travel to assignments and adapt to schedule changes.
• Communicate with leadership regarding unfilled assignments and emergencies to maintain service quality.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct standards.
