Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, seeks a full-time faculty member in Applied Geography, Cartography, GIS, and Geographic Education beginning January 2027 for the spring semester. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field of study.
Professional and academic training in geography and/or cartography.
Minimum of three years' teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Experience with online or remote teaching utilizing Blackboard.
Currency in GIS (ArcPro), Python, Cartography, Remote Sensing, and related courses.

Responsibilities

Teach geography and cartography courses across multiple campuses.
Deliver at least 30 semester hours of Geography/Cartography annually.
Use open educational resources (OERs) to reduce student costs.
Engage students through active, collaborative, and innovative methods.
Advise students on curriculum, graduation, and careers; participate in committees.
