Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Test Driving: drive test vehicles on routes/tracks, conduct safety inspections, document findings clearly.
• Perform vehicle checks and keep vehicles prepared for testing daily.
• Drive prototype vehicles on public/private roads to test ADAS features, collect data and troubleshoot issues.
• Manual data collection and driving, including hands-free on highways.
• Follow team processes, document potential issues and improvements.
• Operate in-vehicle data recording computers and perform minor debugging when needed.
• Provide clear feedback to engineering on vehicle behavior observed.
• Ensure safe operation of test vehicles on public roads.
• Tow diverse trailer configurations according to procedures.
• Execute on-road and closed-course routes to support vehicle development.
• Support data collection on towing performance, braking, stability, and ADAS data.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and testing gear.
• Verify trailer loading, weight distribution, and security before testing.
• Identify and report vehicle, trailer, equipment, or safety concerns.
• Assist with setting up/removal of trailer equipment as required.
• Comply with safety policies and towing regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and trailers for testing.
• Participate in training on towing, safety, and data collection.

Job description

PDW Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full Time ADAS Test Technicians for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. The Test Technician role supportsproject growth and development.This Test Technician position offers an AM Day shift (with flexibility to work the PM Swing Shift, as needed) and is based out of Dearborn, MI. AM Day Shift available.

Shifts:

• AM Day Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM(Monday - Friday)
  • Must be flexible to work the PMSwing Shift 3:00 PM-11:30 PM, as needed

Responsibilities:

• Test Driving
  • Test drive and evaluate test vehicles in “real world” driving situations on test routes and tracks, conduct safety inspections, perform specialized test procedures, and document findings on driver reports in a clear and concise manner
  • Perform vehicle checks, maintenance and keep vehicle prepared for testing daily
  • Vehicle Test Drivers will be responsible for driving prototype vehicles on various public and private roads, test ADAS features, obtain data and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Manual data collection and driving including hands free on highways
  • Follow process for the teams, document potential issues and improvements
  • Operate in-vehicle data recording computers, including start/stop recording, data marking and minor debugging when issues arise
  • Provide clear, accurate and useful subjective feedback to the engineering teams on vehicle behavior observed
  • Ensure the safe operation of our test vehicles on public roads
• Operate vehicle while towing various trailer configurations according to established test procedures
• Execute on-road and closed-course test routes to support vehicle development and validation activities
• Support collection of towing performance handling, braking, stability, and ADAS system data
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles trailer, hitches, and testing equipment
• Verify trailer loading, weight distribution and securement prior to testing
• Identify and report vehicle, trailer, equipment or safety concerns
• Support setting up and removal of trailering equipment as required
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, testing procedures and applicable towing regulations
• Maintain vehicle and trailer cleanliness and readiness for testing activities
• Participate in training activities related to towing, safety and data collection procedures
• Travel to off-stive testing locations when required

Requirements:

• Must have a valid US driver’s license with a good driving record

• Able to drive for prolonged periods

• Must have good vision, hearing and motor skills. Alertness and good driving instinct to monitor automated vehicle performance and supervision
• Basic computer skills to execute basic scripts for testing and data collection, and to document and report issues online and offline
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both written and orally
• Exceptional ability and desire to learn new skills and tools
