Job summary

Yorkview Nursing and Rehab in York, PA seeks an Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility. You will conduct activities for residents under the direction of the Director of Activities, helping with letters, calls, voting and social engagement.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, assisting with transport to programs, craft supervision, and coordinating monthly newsletters and events. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with weekend/holiday availability a must.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Previous long-term care or experience working with the elderly or disabled is desirable.
• Available to work every other weekend and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct activities for residents under the direction of the Director of Activities.
• Assist residents to accomplish normal activities of living (e.g., writing letters, making phone calls, voting).
• Record keeping of residents’ progress and activity attendance.
• Escort residents to activities, provide craft materials, and supervise activities.
• Carry out a program of activities providing entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and creative expression.

Education
