Job summary

The Jewish Home for Rehabilitation and Nursing and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to create engaging, resident-centered programs in a 150-bed sub-acute and long-term care setting. Full-time opportunities available; must be flexible and able to work every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in an Activities Department or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with seniors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment that enhances residents' quality of life and daily experiences.
• Document resident participation and engagement in scheduled activities and programs.
• Promote residents' social, physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being through meaningful activities.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, educational, and community-based programs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation based on interests and abilities.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care goals and satisfaction.
• Observe and communicate changes in moods, behaviors, or participation to team members.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing events showcasing resident-centered care.
• Complete audits, reports, activity documentation, and program records.
• Help prepare, decorate, set up, and break down activities and special events.
• Escort and transport residents to and from activities and events.
• Support a culture of Passion, Respect, and Excellence through compassionate interactions.
