Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a UI/UX designer/developer to rapidly prototype Command and Control systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to turn user needs into intuitive interfaces for high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities include wireframes, data visualization, end-to-end implementation, and documentation. A SECRET clearance and DoD collaboration are expected; strong communication is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX, CS, or related field with 2 years of UI/UX experience.
  • Experience in full stack web development and/or game/app development (React and Unity preferred).
  • Ability to work with government partners and DoD sponsors; eligible for SECRET clearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to UI/UX design and development for current and future C2 systems.
  • Rapidly create wireframes, storyboards, and intuitive interface and data visualization designs.
  • Collaborate across teams to review results, refine concepts, oversee analyses, and propose solutions.
  • Shape requirements and use cases to influence DevSecOps and Digital Engineering processes.
  • Implement designs, maintain, test, and debug code; produce documentation.
