Requirements
- We require a bachelors degree in UI/UX development, computer science, software engineering, web development, game development, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or at least 2 years of experience in UI/UX implementation for a complex system.
- We prefer experience with military systems.
- We look for experience in full-stack web development, game development, or application development, with React and Unity experience preferred.
- We need the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with government partners, DoD sponsors, and analysis teams.
- We expect strong oral and written communication skills.
- We require the ability to obtain a SECRET-level security clearance, including U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a government clearance investigation.
- Preferred qualifications include an active Secret clearance or higher.
- A masters degree in information visualization, UI/UX development, computer science, software engineering, web development, game development, human-computer interaction, or a related field is a plus.
- We value experience in a team environment focused on rapid prototyping.
- We prefer at least 5 years of UI/UX implementation experience for Navy ship defense systems, with practical background and increasing responsibility in Cyber, Radar, Surface Electronic Warfare, Mission Planning, Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS), or Aegis Combat System.
- We also value hands-on experience with wireframing tools and a broad range of coding languages, tools, and libraries such as Unity, Python, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/Sass/Less, React, Redux, Angular, Vue, Bootstrap, Material UI, Git, GitLab, Atlassian, JIRA, SQL, SQLite, MongoDB, Google Analytics, and Docker.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
Responsibilities
- We lead and support UI/UX design and development to shape current and future fielded Command and Control systems while advocating for end users.
- We rapidly produce wireframes, storyboards, and intuitive interface and data visualization concepts.
- We collaborate across teams, departments, and organizations to review findings, refine ideas, guide analyses, and propose solutions that keep the warfighters perspective central.
- We help define requirements and use cases, and we carry out Functional Flow modeling to influence DevSecOps and Digital Engineering efforts for prototyped C2 system deployment.
- We implement designed solutions and maintain, test, and debug code.
- We create documentation covering code frameworks, architecture and design decisions, and user guides.
