Job summary

Cadence is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain UI systems for processor generator tools, spanning Eclipse-based IDEs, web applications, and VS Code/Thea environments. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, analyzing user needs and delivering robust, scalable UI components and backend support.

Ideal candidates have strong React experience, RESTful services, SQL/NoSQL proficiency, and a solid grasp of computer architecture.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in computer science or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience building applications inside an IDE framework (Eclipse, VS Code or Thea).
• Experience building React web applications that interact with SQL databases via REST services.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing/building test systems for web and IDE-based applications.
• Fluency with scripting tasks on Windows and Linux systems.
• Foundational understanding of computer architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain components of an Eclipse-based IDE product for processor designers.
• Develop Web REST API servlets supporting remote product functionality and databases.
• Create web applications for customers and internal infrastructure.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements within time and cost constraints.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Evolve SQL and other databases to support future functionality.
• Engineer tests and integrate features into new releases; support application teams during testing.
• Incorporate Agentic AI workflows into product features and design.
• Collaborate with hardware, architecture, IDE and support teams to enable new features.
